Many thanks to St. Louis Auto Stop for its generous $5,000 donation to the St. Louis Public Schools Students-in-Transition (SIT) Office. The donation was arranged by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) St. Louis, Local 420.

The SIT Office, headed by SLPS Homeless Coordinator and Foster Care Liaison Deidra C. Thomas-Murray, MSW, LMSW, provides support to the District’s homeless and foster care students. SIT’s mission is to efficiently and effectively identify homeless students and provide support for academic success (tutoring, free meals, uniforms/clothing, counseling, transportation, mentoring, coats, school and hygienic supplies).

Drew Young, general sales manager, and Randy Graham, sales consultant—both of St. Louis Auto Stop—and Ms. Mary Armstrong, president of AFT St. Louis, presented Ms. Thomas-Murray, the entire SIT staff, and Deputy Superintendent of Student Support Services Stacy Clay with the check. They intend to use the donation to brighten the holidays for many needy families.
