• SLPS Seeks Follow-Up Input Regarding Future Of Two Schools

Mann and Shenandoah Schools are subjects of public engagement meetings

ST. LOUIS, MO, October 31, 2013 – Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Adams will host a pair of public engagement meetings to gather input from parents and community members about the future of Mann and Shenandoah Elementary Schools.  Dr. Adams has invited St. Louis City Alderwomen Jennifer Florida and Christine Ingrassia to join him at these meetings taking place in their respective wards.

The upcoming public engagement sessions are a follow-up to a pair of meetings held in early October regarding the same subject.  Approximately 100 people attended the earlier meetings to provide feedback about the future of Mann and Shenandoah schools.  The results of the earlier meetings were presented to the Special Administrative Board on October 9 and are available on the District’s website at www.slps.org/community.

At the upcoming meetings, Dr. Adams will share important data about Mann and Shenandoah Schools in regards to enrollment, the physical condition of the schools and possible proposals to consider moving forward regarding renovations or construction of a new school.

To make it convenient for everyone to participate, this community-led engagement opportunity will be offered twice in different locations:
