2025 marks the 30th year of St. Louis Public Schools’ “Famous African-Americans Portraits Art Competition” and SLPS is proud to co-host this year’s contest with the National Blues Museum. The contest is sponsored by The National Blues Museum and donors to the SLPS Foundation. The participating high school art students have researched the background of a famous African-American Blues musician, created an artistic depiction of the musician, and included a 200-word biography.
Please note, the name on the artwork is not the name of the student, but the name of the musician in the portrait. Entries are anonymous so schools and student names are not listed.
