• Nottingham CAJT High School Holds Soccer Clinic with Denny Vaninger

    Nottingham Community Access & Job Training (CAJT) High School students participated in a soccer clinic on October 1, 2013, hosted by Hall of Fame soccer player Denny Vaninger.

     

    Mr. Vaninger conducts coaching courses, speaking engagements, and school assemblies throughout the state. As a St. Louis native and member of the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame, he has played and coached at all levels. He played professional in the North American Soccer League and was a member of the U.S. National Team and six U.S. Soccer Federation National Championship Teams.

     

    Laurie Kaminski, Lindenwood University’s head soccer coach, and Jeff Vaninger, Lindenwood’s assistant soccer coach, were also on hand to lead the clinic for Nottingham CAJT’s exceptional students.

     

    Nottingham CAJT provides vocational preparation, independent living skills instruction, and functional academics in a school-based, community-oriented school-to-work program for students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities.

     

    The school’s successes include:

    ·         Achieving Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) status in 2010, 2011, and 2012

    ·         Maintaining a 94 percent attendance rate throughout the 2010,  2011 and 2012 school years

    ·         Averaging a 90 percent employment / program placement rate for its graduates over the past four years
