• Career and College Exploration for Teachers

ST. LOUIS, MO, July 8, 2013 - Fourteen SLPS teachers will start the 2013-14 school year armed with the latest information on the region’s economic development and workforce needs—with an emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

Held on June 24-25 and 27, Career and College Exploration for Teachers was part of the superintendent’s STEM initiative. The program was open to all science, mathematics, or career and technical education teachers.

Each teacher completed 20 hours of training, during which shadowing experiences were provided at the main campus of Webster University, The Boeing Company, and Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis. Participants also created a project-based learning experience for their students to complete in the 2013-14 school year.
