• Biking for Books


    Thanks to the generosity of Biking for Books, children at five St. Louis Public School District elementary schools will have new books to read.  Biking for Books donated the proceeds from a recent cycling event to provide books for students at Adams, Ashland, Laclede, Lexington and Patrick Henry Downtown Academy elementary schools. 
     
     
    Representatives of Biking for Books presented the principals of the schools with a check on October 14, 2013.

     

    Biking for Books was founded by two high school students who are avid bikers - Faraz Ahmad and Safi Ahmad of John Burroughs School.  They joined forces with Barry Bryant, an alumnus of Adams Elementary School, to organize the Biking for Books cycling event last Spring.

     


    The bicycling event of 10, 25 and 50 miles raised funds to purchase the much-needed books for the five schools in SLPS.  To learn more about Biking for Books, please visit biking4books.org or send an email to
