Nance Elementary has been named a 2024 State and National School of Character! Schools named a School of Character have demonstrated a focus on character development which has positively impacted academic achievement, student behavior, and school climate.
In the 2024 nationwide evaluation process, conducted byCharacter.org, 87 schools were named State Schools of Character and just 73 schools were certified as National Schools of Character. This recognition is given to schools and districts that have achieved a standard of excellence in the area of character development through their exemplary implementation ofCharacter.org’s 11 Principles of Effective Character Education, a framework for whole-school improvement.
This is a tremendous achievement for the Nance community! Nance is the first ever school in north city St. Louis to receive this honor and will remain recognized as a State and National School of Character until 2029.
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! As we celebrate good character and our students’ commitment to doing the right thing, Nance Knights will be focused on showing HEART (honestly, empathy, accountability, respect, and tenacity) this year!
