    Race to Renew

Support your community by heading downtown on July 13 for the St. Louis 5K Race to Renew. For only $35 per person, you will receive entry into the race, a T-shirt, a chance at a cash prize, and—most importantly—the opportunity to raise funding for Community Education Full Service Schools.

WHO BENEFITS: The city of St. Louis and SLPS have Community Education Full Service Schools located at 10 different public schools. In order to keep these centers running, it takes funding for program, staff, and maintenance. With your help, we hope to raise more than $100,000 to help St. Louis keep these centers up and running.

WHAT IS A FULL SERVICE SCHOOL: Full Service Schools are an important response to the realities of education and circumstances faced by many children, families, and schools today. In its ideal state, a full service school serves the whole community before, during, and after school hours with children, youth, and adult programs, seven days a week, all year long. It is characterized by strong partnering with community service providers and the engagement of families, youth, school staff, and neighborhood residents in helping to design and implement activities and services. The primary focus is on the promotion of high educational achievement and positive youth development.

RACE DETAILS: The race will begin at 8 a.m. on July 13. Starting Line is downtown at 7th and Cole. The Race Expo and packet pickup will be held at the America Center in Hall 1.
