    SLPS Executive Director of Operations/Building Commissioner Named a

    MOKAN CCAC “Public Sector Executive of the Year”

     

    ST. LOUIS, MO. November 2, 2012 – Roger CayCe, the St. Louis Public School District’s Executive Director of Operations/Building Commissioner, has been recognized as one of three MOKAN CCAC “Public Sector Executives of the Year.”

     

    Since its incorporation in 1974, MOKAN Construction Contractors Assistance Center (CCAC) has served as an advocate and facilitator for the inclusion of minority and women-owned businesses on construction projects in the St. Louis metropolitan area. MOKAN CCAC recognized CayCe for his role in the District’s $155 Million Proposition S Bond Project,  ensuring  a 40% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)participation, 5% Women’s Business Enterprise(WBE) participation, and 40% MWBE Boots in the Field participation.

     

    “It is an honor to be recognized by MOKAN, and I thank the community for their support in the passage and implementation of Proposition S,” said CayCe.

     

    CayCe has worked in education for 36 years.  He began his career in the St. Louis Public School District as a teacher and coach before moving on to the School District of University City as Assistant Superintendent of Operations.  CayCe returned to SLPS in 2006 following his retirement from University City.  

     

    His accomplishments include being selected as a merit classroom teacher and writing an energy grant worth $4.4 million from the Department of Natural Resources, which was the highest amount ever awarded a school district in Missouri. His proven areas of expertise include business planning and development, curriculum development, construction management, systems design and implementation, funded programs, strategic planning, safety and security, emergency management, student services, custodial management, and building maintenance.

     

    A veteran of the United States Air Force, CayCe holds a Master of Science Degree from National-Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeast Missouri State University.
