The St. Louis Public School District will also be hosting Magnet and Choice Recruitment Fairs for prospective students and their families. Below are the dates/times and locations:
· Saturday, September 15, from 10:00am until 12:00noon, at the World Chess Hall of Fame, 4652 Maryland Ave.
· Tuesday, September 25, from 6:00-8:00pm, at the Magic House-Emerson Education Center, 516 S. Kirkwood Rd.
· Saturday, October 6, from 10:00am until 12:00noon, at Compton Drew Investigative Learning Center, 5130 Oakland Ave.
Students wishing to attend a magnet school must submit an application. Students wishing to attend a choice school must submit an application, an essay, and participate in an interview with the school’s selection committee. The Magnet and Choice School Guide and Application will be available to the public on September 1, 2012, and can be picked up at the following locations:
· Office of Recruitment and Counseling, 801 N. 11th St.
· Each Magnet and Choice School Building
· Online at www.slps.org/enrollment
· County residents can also pick up guides and applications at the Voluntary Interdistrict Choice Corp. (VICC) website www.choicecorp.org or call (314) 721-8422, ext. 3012.
