    SLPS Sells Gardenville School

Gardenville is Third District Building Sold in the Calendar Year

ST. LOUIS, MO. July 23, 2012 – The Saint Louis Public School District has completed the sale of the Gardenville Elementary School building, 6651 Gravois Avenue.  The property was sold to Concept Schools for $1.195 million. The school is expected to be used by Concept Schools for education purposes.

“The Special Administrative Board is committed to getting the best return on any potential sale of an existing Saint Louis Public School District property while at the same time promoting opportunities to redevelop closed school sites so they once again serve as valuable assets for the St. Louis community,” said Rick Sullivan, CEO/President of the SAB.

The sale of the Gardenville Elementary School building marks the third closed school building sold by the District during the 2012 calendar year.  The District previously sold Garfield Elementary School (3200 Texas) and Scruggs Elementary School (4611 S. Grand) in March of this year.  Garfield is being developed as temporary housing and support services for the homeless.  Scruggs is being developed as a place of worship, monastery and related activities.

Other SLPS properties currently available for sale are Cook School (5912 Horton - $780,000) and Lyon School (7417 Vermont - $860,000).

The management of SLPS real estate development projects/assets, including sales, development proposal review, analysis of public/private funding for projects, planning and community outreach, is handled by Ms. Marti  Roveda.  The District also benefits from expert guidance from the Hilliker Corporation, and Linda M. Wash Real Estate, LLC.  To view District surplus properties visit www.hillikercorp.com or call Ms. Marti Roveda, SLPS Director of Real Estate, at (314) 345-2245.
