ST. LOUIS, MO. April 11, 2012 – Recently, hospitality students from Clyde C. Miller Career Academy took top honors at the Missouri SkillsUSA Championship held at Linn State Technical College. In addition, Raven Brand, a hospitality student, was elected as a 2012-2013 Missouri SkillsUSA Officer.
Called the “showcase of technical education,” the Missouri SkillsUSA Championship recognizes career and technical education students who excel in their occupational areas, as well as leadership development activities that are such an integral part of the SkillsUSA program in the classroom. Because of their success in the state competition, the following students will advance and compete at the 48th Annual National Leadership & Skills Conference held June 23-27 in Kansas City, MO:
1st Place Food & Beverage Service Sharniece Dunn
1st Place Hospitality Tech Prep Team Teman Sneed, Raven Brand & Sharniece Dunn
2nd Place Customer Service Curteisha Jacobs
