The Honorable Mayor Francis Slay took time out of his very busy schedule recently to visit the students at Humboldt Academy of Higher Learning. Mr. Slay was invited by the Humboldt Parents Association to tour the school and meet the students. Humboldt Academy of Higher Learning opened in August 2011 and currently serves students in grades 3 and 4.The Mayor visited every classroom in the school and fielded questions from the curious students. Mr. Slay talked about the responsibilities of a mayor and shared a message of his love of service to the community. He encouraged the students to consider a career in public service and to always try to give back to the community.
