    Course Description:
    Veterinary Science Survey
          The agricultural industry provides over 20% of the jobs in the United States. The National FFA organization is the premier youth organization in the country. It provides students with opportunities to develop skills in leadership, teamwork and cooperation. It also affords students opportunities to pursue jobs in the agricultural industry. This course will introduce students to the FFA and the opportunities it provides.
     
          Our Main focus in this class will be on the care of small animals. We will study areas pertaining to animal health, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, and disease. The skills the students learn will enable them to be better prepared for a career in the animal health field. We will use laboratory and hands-on activities to enhance classroom learning and provide more real world experience. In addition, students will spend the second semester of their senior year completing an internship related to animal health.
