Mr. Mark Fantroy
Welcome to the 25–26 School Year, Jaguars!
I’m excited to kick off my fourth year teaching the EMT Program at Gateway STEM! My name is Mark Fantroy, and I bring real-world experience from my work as a Paramedic with the St. Louis Fire Department. Before that, I served as a Captain with the Kinloch Fire Protection District, where I also took on roles as the Public Information Officer and IT Officer, while also working on the truck as a Firefighter/Paramedic.
Teaching is truly my passion. I'm committed to helping students who are eager to learn and serious about becoming EMTs. My mission is to guide and inspire each of you as you prepare for this challenging and incredibly rewarding career.
This year, I’m especially excited about the expansion of the commuter program, which now includes even more high schools! This opportunity allows students to remain at their home school while attending Gateway for the EMT program—bringing our hands-on, career-focused training to even more future lifesavers across the district.
When I’m not in the classroom, I love traveling with my wife and our two kids, Audrey and Oscar. This summer, we kicked things off with a family cruise out of Tampa, exploring the beautiful Western Caribbean. I also had the chance to do some incredible scuba diving in Belize and during a weeklong trip to Key West—one of my favorite hobbies as a PADI Divemaster! To wrap up the summer, my wife and I took a second cruise just for the two of us out of Miami, visiting the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, and The Bahamas.
Looking forward to an exciting and successful year ahead!
