Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! This will be my third year at Gateway STEM. This year, I am teaching Chemistry and AP Chemistry. I also coach Cross Country in the fall season. 

I grew up in Massachusetts and attended Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in upstate New York for my undergraduate degree. While at RIT, I competed in cross country and track and completed two 6-month internships as part of the chemical engineering program. After graduating, I returned to one of those companies and worked as a process engineer for several years before deciding to become a teacher. At that point, I spent a year in Boston MA to complete my graduate degree in education before moving to St. Louis. 

I hope everyone will gain something from my class. Even if your path ahead does not include studying chemistry further, or if science just isn't your thing, you will gain a better understanding of how the world works, critical thinking skills, and tools to solve any problem that comes your way! 

Current students can access class materials through Teams and grades through Tyler SIS. Parents/Guardians have internet access to their student’s grades and attendance (upon administrative approval) through Tyler SIS at https://sis.slps.org/SLPS/Default.aspx. Parents/Guardians are welcome to reach out to me at any time regarding student progress.
