My name is Melanie Bales and I am an Academic Instructional Coach (AIC) at Gateway STEM. I taught high school math for 8 years before becoming a Math Specialist for SLPS for 3 years. I received my Bachelor's degree in Math and Secondary Education from Saint Louis University in 2009, and my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Missouri, St. Louis, in 2016. I have devoted my career to working with students in urban areas and have a particular fondness for math- math is fun and exciting and can open many opportunities for people!!!
