Biography
I am from St. Louis and proud to be a part of St. Louis Public Schools. I attended St. Norbert College in Green Bay, WI and graduated with an English major and Fine Arts minor. After college I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail, spending six months walking from Georgia to Vermont. I then came back to St. Louis and enrolled at Webster University to earn my Master's degree in Communication Arts. I worked for a small non-profit for a few years before starting my teaching career and earning my teaching certification (Cross-category K-12, English 9-12) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I spent 13 years as a special education teacher at both Sumner and Roosevelt High Schools, during which time I also obtained Reading Specialist certification from UMSL, before joining the team at Gateway this year as an AIC.
Outside of work I enjoy baking, traveling, reading, watching movies, and hanging out with my husband, our two kids, and our dog.
