I am originally from Arlington, Virginia. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University where I earned a B.S. in Psychology and Spanish in 2007. I taught English as a Second Language in Leon, Nicaragua after college. I moved to St. Louis in 2011 to attend SLU where I earned an M.A. in American Studies, with a focus on the intersection of advertising, food studies, and gender. I completed coursework for my teaching certification at UMSL.
For the 2024 -2025 school year, I am facilitating the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Program in collaboration with Washington University's School of Law, acting as a liaison for our Peer Mediation program in collaboration with the American Friends Service Committee, and serving as testing coordinator for our building.
I am passionate about making my students feel powerful in the classroom. My hope is that they will use this power outside of the school building to become advocates for hope, equality, and progress in their communities. I want my students to leave my class with a wider understanding of the forces, both visible and invisible, that shape our world today.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and exploring St. Louis.
