• SLPS and teachers union get $130K early childhood grant

    St. Louis Public Schools and American Federation of Teachers (AFT) St. Louis Local 420 have been awarded a three-year, $130,000 grant from the AFT Innovation Fund for early childhood education. The grant will help the district develop a research-based, district-wide professional development program for pre-K teachers and paraprofessionals, among other early childhood initiatives, in partnership with the University of Michigan and Professor Barbara Bowman of the Erikson Institute.
