The St. Louis Aerospace Institute at STLCC is hosting an information session tomorrow evening. This session will allow prospective students to discover more about aviation maintenance and aerospace manufacturing courses at St. Louis Community College (STLCC).

The aviation maintenance courses are offered in cooperation with St. Louis Public Schools at Gateway STEM High School as part of their FAA certified Aviation Maintenance Technician Program.

“The courses prepare students for Federal Aviation Administration airframe and power plant tests,” said Becky Epps, program manager of the St. Louis Aerospace Institute at STLCC. “Fifty-four credit hours are earned over 19 months.”

Aerospace manufacturing courses cover aerospace fundamentals, sheet metal assembly, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, composite fabrication and composite assembly. Up to 29 credit hours can be earned in one semester in these fast-paced, accelerated courses.

Individuals interested in this career field are invited to attend the upcoming information session. Prospective students will:

    • Learn about academic requirements and career options

    • Find out how to get started at STLCC

The St. Louis Aerospace Institute’s information session will take place from 6 -7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, in Room 136 at the Center for Workforce Innovation, 3344 Pershall Road. For more information or to register contact Amy Sonderman at 314-513-4307 or e-mail Asonderman@stlcc.edu.
