    A number of community organizations provide resources, support projects and conduct programs for the students and staff at Saint Louis Public Schools, including:
     
    Alliance for a Healthier Generation, founded by the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation, is working with 15 pilot schools in the Healthy Schools Program.  These schools are provided assistance with convening a School Wellness Council, completing a school health inventory, writing an Action Plan, identifying resources and taking action.  The Healthy Schools program is available to every school online.
     
    America SCORES St. Louis is a non-profit after-school program that empowers students in urban communities using soccer, writing, creative expression and service-learning. 
     
    Offers a variety of programs in the schools, including Funtastic Nutrition, SNEAKERS (fitness and body systems class), BUDDIES (violence prevention/anti-bullying class), Power of Choice (drug resistance education), STOP (Smoke-free Teens on Purpose) and Heart2Heart (secual behaviors program).
     
    The City of Saint Louis Department of Health collaborates with a group of community partners to provide health information and education at two Full Service Schools: Walbridge and Hamilton.  The Health Equities Program at SLPS High Schools presents the Body and Soul project, which focuses on developing healthy behaviors in teens, particularly with regard to sex.  Children's Environmental Health offers lead poisoning prevention education and testing of children at all elementary and preschools.
     
    Provides children in 20 St. Louis Public Schools with free vision screenings, eye exams and eyeglasses through the Healthy Vision Network 4 Kids program.
     
    The Family Nutrition Education Program provides free classes to students in SLPS.  The classes address the food pyramid, physical activity, food safety and also includes food tastings.  The nutrition educators provide a series of approximately 8 lessons to each class from grades K-12. 
     
    Gateway Greening works with youth garden projects to build raised vegetable beds, sensory and butterfly gardens, and outdoors classrooms.  They offer professional development workshops to teachers, volunteers and administration on a variety of topics to integrate the garden project into the culture of their school, including curriculum. 
     
    Provides preventive and restorative dental care at schools, as well as oral hygiene education. 
     
    The Healthy Youth Partnership works to eliminate youth obesity through collaborations that promote healthy eating and active living in the St. Louis region.
     
    Hort Americas
    Hort Americas offers hydroponic, horticulture supplies and services in North America. The company also consults on some technical projects which involve the production of horticultural crops and the products used to grow those crops in vertical farms, city farms or greenhouses.

    The Little Bit Foundation provides clothing, hygiene kits, dental kits, school supplies and books as needed to students at participating schools.
     
    Operation Food Search is partnered with a national anti-hunger organization, Share Our Strength, to offer the Operation Frontline curricula. Operation Frontline is a series of cooking and nutrition classes on healthy eating and cooking on a limited budget. It is made up of seven specialized curricula that cover nutrition and healthy eating, food preparation, budgeting and shopping. 
     
    Provides school-linked periodic screening, diagnosis, and treatment exams, as well as immunizations, dental screening, and follow-up exams.
     
    The Healthy Kids Express mobile van provides screenings for hearing and vision, anemia, lead, dental, asthma and scoliosis.  It also provides immunizations and general physical examinations.
     
    Offers nutrition education, with a focus on the role of dairy foods as part of a healthful diet.
     
    The Rams community outreach team supports programs designed to positively impact youth in the areas of education, literacy, health, recreation and youth football.
     
    Through the Safe Routes to School program, Trailnet assesses a community's barriers to walking and biking to school, teaches children safe walking and biking skills and encourages students to walk or bike.
     
    Nursing students at the University of Missouri - St. Louis teach nutrition and health classes at the schools.

    Provides comprehensive vision testing for students failing an initial vision screening.
