Gifted Resource Instruction
Students that attend non-gifted neighborhood or magnet schools that have been identified by the district to receive gifted services are eligible to receive 150 minutes per week of gifted instruction (the 150 minutes may include face-to-face instruction combined with independent learning tasks.) The instruction occurs outside of the regular classroom in a small group or one-on-one setting.
The gifted resource instruction is designed using Project Based Learning. Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge. (Click here for more information on PBL.) The PBLs will be grounded in literacy and STEM standards, as well as the Missouri Gifted Learner Outcomes.
