  • The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund was created by Congress in 2020 as part of the CARES Act to support schools and districts in addressing the impact of COVID-19.  

    There are 3 stages to ESSER - beginning in 2020-21 and continuing through the 2023-24 school year.  Saint Louis Public Schools (SLPS) will receive ESSER funding during each of the four school years. SLPS is scheduled to receive a total of $156.6 Million during the four-year ESSER cycle.
