• Research and Data in Professional Development

The research and data around the professional development of educators demonstrates the need for collaborative and supportive cohorts of educators who meet regularly, share expertise, and learn together. The St. Louis Public School Professional Development Team supports and adapts to the needs of our staff to facilitate a Cohort Model of professional development based on this research. We utilize our feedback to develop a needs assessment, develop intentional objectives and provide professional development activities both virtually and in person. Last year we collaborated to develop Data Literacy Modules to facilitate a deeper understanding of data- and how to analyze it to meet the needs of our scholars.

    Frontline

The Frontline Professional Growth Platform can create, store, track, and provide resources for tracking growth and professional development for our staff.  It personalizes and tracks professional learning goals, learning activities, observations, and evaluations. St. Louis Public Schools utilizes Frontline to support continuous, data-driven professional learning. We plan, manage, and analyze internal and external professional learning opportunities, and enable our staff to take an active role in their own learning.  Kimberly Swenson manages the platform and provides individual, school, and district wide support for the effective use of the platform. Staff can access support through the Frontline Training on Microsoft Teams, the Learning Center on Frontline Professional Growth or reach out directly to Kimberly.Swenson@slps.org.
