    Language Access

To facilitate meaningful communication with ELL families, language access support in St. Louis Public Schools is available in all district languages. The following language access services are available:

Interpretation during meetings can be available over the phone, via Zoom/Teams, and/or in-person.

When interpretation support is needed for a short conversation (less than 15 minutes), district staff should use a district-approved language access vendor for telephonic interpretation.

When interpretation support is needed for a longer conversation (more than 15 minutes), district staff should schedule an interpreter through the ESOL Office.

    • To schedule an interpreter for a language available through the district language access team (Arabic, Dari, Farsi, French, Kinyarwanda, Pashto, Spanish, and Swahili), contact district translators/interpreters directly. See SLPS Language Access Team Contact Information.
    • For all other languages, download and complete the Interpreter Request Form.

Robo Calls in multiple languages are available to communicate district-wide or school-specific information. To request a robo call in multiple languages, download and complete the Robo Call Request Form

Translation of district-wide documents and forms into top district languages is used to support written communication with families. To request a document translation, download and complete the Translation Request Form.

Many district documents and forms have been translated and are available in St. Louis Public Schools Library of Translated Documents and Forms. Click Here or on the image below to access the translations. You will need to log in using your district e-mail to access the documents.
