Vision Statement
St. Louis Public Schools is the district of choice for families in the St. Louis a region that provides world-class education and is nationally recognized as a leader in student achievement and teacher quality.
Mission Statement
The mission of the St. Louis Public Schools’ Adult Education and the literacy program is to provide quality educational services to adults as they pursue a better life for themselves, their families, and their community.
As an educator, I’ve spent several years mentoring and preparing students for future careers. I’ve studied the methods, philosophies, and principals of education for the last twenty-five years; created curriculum for several organizations, helped create programs and improve academic standings at several institutions of higher learning, such as Harris-Stowe State University, Forest Park Community College, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Ranken Technical College. In addition to that, I’ve done extensive research and organized several educational programs for the Wellston School District, St. Louis Public Schools and St. Louis Job Corps Center.
I am genuinely happy and excited that St. Louis Public School has given me the opportunity to direct its noble mission of empowering people academically and socially in every sector of the district and it is my desire, with your support, to help students meet their fullest potential.
As technology continues to change rapidly, it is both our challenge and our commitment to remain updated concerning these innovations and to ensure that our students are exposed to critical skills that are necessary for success in both their future educational endeavors and workplace experiences.
Our mission is to provide an outstanding educational experience and to develop student learning, understanding, inquiry, reflection, resilience, and independence. It is our obligation to focus on improving student achievement to produce more successful graduates and develop a positive academic culture and climate.
Lastly, I am extremely thankful to all the teachers, staff and volunteers for their support and efforts in developing new learning opportunities for our students. Thank you so much for all your challenging work.
Together, we will 'Build Each Student's Tomorrow, Every Day.'Dr. Tambra Cross
