About the W.E.B. DuBois Scholars Institute:
Since its inception in 1988, the mission of the W.E.B. DuBois Scholars Institute has been to develop a cadre of leaders/scholars with a commitment to eliminate poverty, racism, and inspire hope in communities that have experienced historical barriers to achievement and opportunity.
Our goal is to produce leaders that are committed to engaging their talents in the study of complex problems and to the prospect of contributing their abilities to the betterment of others. In keeping with the teachings of W.E.B. DuBois, we believe that the most effective leadership will come from our best and brightest minds.
