    Dear Parents and Guardians,

    The safety and well-being of our student-athletes are always our top priority, especially during extreme weather conditions. As you may be aware, the forecast for this week includes periods of intense heat that pose significant risks for outdoor athletic activities.

    After careful consideration and consultation with our athletic trainers, coaches, and district leadership, we have decided to move all outdoor practices indoors Monday, August 26, 2024 and Tuesday, August 27, 2024. This decision is in alignment with guidelines set forth by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and other leading sports medicine organizations. These guidelines recommend that, when environmental conditions present a heightened risk of heat-related illnesses, alternative arrangements be made to protect student health.     Indoor practices will allow our athletes to continue training in a safe, controlled environment. Coaches will communicate specific practice locations and schedules directly to their teams. Please know that we will continue to monitor weather conditions daily and will make adjustments as needed to ensure the safety of our students.
