About Me

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Language from St. Mary's University of San Antonio. I completed my coursework for teacher certification at the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL), and I am working to complete my Master of Education coursework at UMSL.

I am a teacher because I love to learn. I am grateful to learn from the brilliance of my students each day and am endlessly fascinated by the ideas and unique perspectives they share with me. Additionally, I am passionate about literacy and enjoy helping students gain the literacy skills necessary to achieve their academic, career and personal goals.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

I look forward to working with the sophomore class at Metro this year. I will teach Honors English 2 and Preparation for the National Exam, otherwise known as ACT Prep.

My goal is to help students create a learning community in which all students feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their potential. We will work together to create a classroom environment that encourages students to take risks in the learning process, take ownership of their learning, and share openly with one another to broaden their perspectives and maximize learning. 

Families are an important part of the learning community, and I look forward to partnering with Metro families to help students succeed this school year.
