Hello! My name is Leah Allen (she/her). I will be teaching IB Literature, World Literature, ACT Prep, and African-American Literature this year at Metro.

I grew up in Southern Missouri and graduated from Jackson High School. After high school, I attended Southeast Missouri State University, where I majored in literature and minored in publishing. A few years later, I returned to college and got my teaching certification from the University of Texas at Tyler.

I spent ten years being pretty nomadic, so it feels wonderful to be back home. We moved to St. Louis in 2022 and it's been great. My favorite things about the city are the diverse food options and the planetarium. When I have free time, I like to spend it with my husband and our two dogs, Finn and Patsy. I enjoy spending time at home doing all things domestic, but also have a passion for the outdoors. 

I am beyond thrilled to be part of the Metro family, and I'm looking forward to the new year.
