• Hello, my name is Mr. Terrell I am the new E-Sports teacher.

E- Sports is important today because there are many benefits that students can gain and use in the real world. Some important skills they can acquire are greater student involvement, earning scholarships, better mental health, the importance of teamwork and collaboration, and critical thinking. Being able to learn these skills can allow students to make a career out of gaming.

The reason why I took on the role is because I feel it in my heart. I can help the students gain the proper skills and be the best version of themselves. The students are our future and learning how to apply these skills in their everyday life can set them up for life. Younger generations tend to get into innovation, diversity, novelty, and variety. That's because so much of the world is still new and undiscovered for them, and they also have the energy and enthusiasm of youth. When I was younger growing up in Saint Louis, it was a challenge to stay focused and find my niche in life. Having positive role models and faith got me far in life.

I attended Gateway STEM High School where I played basketball, baseball, and ran track. By staying focused and not getting distracted helped me stay on track with classes, sports, and school clubs. I knew that I wanted to further my education after high school because I wanted more for myself and couldn’t settle for less. I attended the University of Missouri - Columbia (Mizzou) where I earned two bachelor's degrees and was able to graduate with some certifications.
