Ms. La'Shay Williams
Ms. La’Shay Williams is a free-spirited Visual Arts teacher with over a decade of teaching experience in the St. Louis Public Schools District. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Illinois Institute of Art and a lifetime career teaching certification in Art Education for grades K-12 from Lindenwood University. Additionally, Ms. Williams has earned a Master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from Lindenwood University, equipping her with innovative teaching strategies and a profound ability to foster creativity and critical thinking in young artists. Her experience and credentials reflect her extensive artistic knowledge and pedagogical expertise, which she brings to her role as an educator.
Her journey in the world of art began with liturgical and contemporary dance and fashion design. Her remarkable talent has earned her recognition, with features in publications such as the St. Louis American and Alive Magazine. Prior to her teaching career, her artwork graced the Regional Arts Commission, PHD Gallery, St. Louis University's Busch Center, and the Missouri Institute of Mental Health, establishing her as a respected artist in the city's vibrant arts community.
In response to the urgent needs of the next generation, Ms. Williams transitioned to the role of an art teacher, bringing her wealth of knowledge and passion to young minds. Her experiences as a nurturing mother, designer, conceptual abstract painter, and poet enrich her teaching, enabling her to educate the whole child and provide students with a holistic perspective on the world of Visual Arts.
