Hello! This is my first year teaching at Carr Lane. I am a teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. I am a late-deafened adult with 30 years of American Sign Language experience. My son and my brother are also deaf. My teaching journey began 23 years ago at Tennessee School for the Deaf teaching high school math. I also taught middle school English and math at Missouri School for the Deaf. In addition, I am a seasoned itinerant teacher, serving students in public schools for 6 years. Before my educational career, I was a layout artist for the Alton Telegraph newspaper in Alton, IL. On summers off, I worked as an apprentice carpenter and woodworker, and as a nanny. I am very excited to be a part of Carr Lane VPA and St. Louis Public Schools! I have a passion for teaching and learning! I'm currently learning how to write a screenplay! When I am not teaching, you will find me in my garden or tending to my small hobby farm. I also enjoy wandering in the woods, looking for artifacts in the creek, foraging, and doing artwork.
