Get to know your school social worker!

Hello Busch students, families, and staff!! My name is Andrea Hunzeker and I use she/her pronouns. The 2023-2024 school year is my fourth year at Busch! I am passionate about working with youth and supporting them to be empowered, resilient, and well-informed young adults with strong social emotional development. My hobbies include reading, baking, painting, and playing with my dog. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends playing board games, video games, assembling puzzles, traveling, and discussing the world around us. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I majored in Social Work and minored in Criminal Justice. After my bachelor’s degree I worked in the mental health field with middle and high school students in Mississippi before moving to St. Louis and pursuing my master’s degree in Social Work at Washington University. After I graduated with my MSW, I worked with middle school students providing social and emotional learning lessons, support, and advocacy for several years before transitioning to my current role as school social worker.
