     About Mr. Lescher (updated 8/17/21):

I have been the principal of Busch since 2006. Prior to that, I was the assistant principal at Carr Lane VPA for two years.  I began working in the Saint Louis in 1999 as a teacher in Hamilton Elementary School.  I went to Drury University in Springfield, MO for undergraduate work, and Lindenwood University for graduate classes.

In 2008, I graduated from the L.A.C.E (Leadership Academy of Character Education) program led by Dr. Marvin Berkowitz of UMSL. It was this program that inspired me to create a school focusing on “character.” I was fortunate enough to have our superintendent’s support in changing the theme of our school to character education. Working at a school of character has been one of the best experiences of my life. It is fun to come to a place where most people are trying to be kind to one another.

I am married to my wife Darcy. We have three children between us and one dog. My current goal is to be able to do ten unassisted handstand pushups (I achieved nine this summer).  Something I am proud of is our school being recognized as a National School of Character. We first achieved this distinction in 2016 and were reissued the status this year.  I like many genres of music. My son has got me back into watching NBA basketball, which I will try and learn more about this year. I love reading… I really do and I am not just saying that!
