Students are advised to contact their guidance counselor to see how their class schedule has been adjusted. I apologize for any distress this may cause as these changes were not my decision to make.

This Thursday and Friday, Ms. Bartleman will be absent from school due to attending the 87th Annual Missouri Music Educator Association Conference out of town. In her absence, students will be allowed to complete any missing assignments and turn in an extra credit assignment. Please encourage your students to check SIS for any missing assignments (which will be marked as a 0). Both of those days will be a B day. Progress Report grades will be released on Friday, February 7th.
Reminder: Make sure students turn in the syllabus signature page to Ms. Bartleman before the deadline. If turned in while Ms. Bartleman is absent, there will be a vanilla envelope for students to put in.

In preparation for next semester, I wanted to provide notice that the music course schedule is going to be slightly adjusted. The reason for this adjustment is due to Ms. Bartleman needing to travel to McKinely for a mentorship per her program requirements at UMSL. Below is the newly adjusted music course schedule starting in January:
A Days
- 1st Period: Understanding Music
- 2nd Period: Understanding Music (moved from 6th Period)
- 3rd Period: Beginning Percussion
- 4th Period: PLAN/Mentorship @ McKinley
B Days
- 5th Period: Beginning Winds (Brass)
- 6th Period: Beginning Winds (Woodwinds)
- 7th Period: Intermediate Band
- 8th Period: PLAN/Mentorship @ McKinley
In addition to changes in course offerings, there is also a new location set for all band classes! Starting in January, all band students will be able to play instruments in the auditorium on B days. More details to come on logistics, instruments, and more.
Thursday, November 14th, 2024
As of today, all music classes have been relocated permanently to Room 111. This is a change from the 209 Computer Lab due to upcoming testing. Next semester, all band classes are going to be held on the Auditorium stage, and we will resume playing instruments. Due to worsening conditions of the band room, there is no timeline for music to return downstairs for the remainder of the school year.
Friday, November 8th, 2024
Currently, all music classes are held in Room 209. Within the next week or so, all classes will be relocated to another classroom in the building. Due to its conditions, we will not be returning to the band during this academic year. I will post an update on when this move will happen.
Thursday, October 3rd, 2024
Due to unforeseen safety concerns in the band room, all music classes will be held in Room 209 (Computer lab, 2nd floor, East side of the building) until further notice. Any update on when we will return to the band room will be announced in the future. Thank you!
