HelIo Roughrider students and parents! I hope you all had an amazing summer break! I am very excited to be returning to Roosevelt for the 2024-2025 school year. For those who don't know, my name is Mr. Helmer and I am the Social Studies Department Chair. This year I will be teaching American Government and Psychology/Sociology. About Me:

I was born and raised here in Saint Louis. In 2013 I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!!!). Following my graduation from Mizzou I went to Webster University, here in St. Louis where I received a Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Education) in 2015. This will be my sixth year teaching at Roosevelt, and my eighth in Saint Louis Public Schools. Outside of school I love spending my time traveling with my wife and dog, reading, and playing guitar.
