Ms. Enna Dancy

Ms. Dancy has been involved in education for over 15 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services and a Sociology Minor from Fontbonne University. She later pursued further studies in the Secondary Education Program at the University of Missouri and received her standard teaching certificate. Ms. Dancy earned an additional Masters Degree and Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri.

Ms. Dancy taught at Peabody eMints Academy in south St. Louis city. She subsequently became the Teaching & Learning Facilitator for the school. From there, Ms. Dancy joined the team at Sumner High School as the Dean of Academics. After 3 years, Ms. Dancy relocated to Oklahoma and worked as an Assistant Principal and Principal of a high school. Ms. Dancy recently returned to her hometown of St. Louis Missouri and rejoined the St. Louis Public Schools District (SLPS). She is honored to be a part of SLPS again.

Ms. Dancy believes that all children can learn but each learns in a different way and at different rates. She believes that with hard work and perseverance we can touch each child in a special way. Keeping the atmosphere positive is the key to success as well as keeping the lines of communication open among staff, students, and parents. Ms. Dancy feels that teamwork is the ultimate way a school can be successful in reaching the goal of helping a child attain his or her full potential.

Ms. Dancy is a very visible principal and she states that the best part of her job is visiting the students in all areas of the school. She gets to know every student and every student gets to know her. Ms. Dancy's motto is "A good education can increase the quality of life!" She is looking forward to continuing her career here at the great Roosevelt High School!
