• DANCE

    The dance program is designed for the student who is interested in pursuing a performing career in dance. In order to provide a basis for stable or active postures and movement, students will learn and perform the fundamentals of classical ballet. Students will be introduced to modern techniques, dance history and career preparation activities.


    Beginning - In order to provide a basis for stable or active postures and movement, students will learn and perform the fundamentals of classical ballet. Students will be introduced to modern techniques, dance history and career preparation activities.


    Intermediate - This level continues to build upon the foundation skills and virtuosity development at level one. The principal points of focus are classical ballet and modern techniques, dance history and career preparation activities with the introduction of jazz techniques.


    Advanced - This level provides an increased emphasis upon dance as a performing art form, by conveying an idea or an emotion through movement. Although study of classical ballet, modern and jazz techniques will continue, students will be encouraged to select one of three areas for specialization and additional preparation. Career Activities include attending performances and other off campus assignments.
