Welcome Letter

  • Hello 2nd graders and families!                                                                                  

    Welcome to a wonderful year in 2nd grade! I am Ms. Scott and I will be your teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. I hope you are excited and eager to learn, grow and discover in 2nd grade because I am excited to go on this 2nd grade adventure with you!

    Our classroom logo is the Outstanding Owl. This year we are going to work hard, try our best and be outstanding together. A copy of our class logo is enclosed with this letter. I am asking for all of my students to wear the logo attached to their shirt for the first 2 days of school. This will help ensure that all of my students will get to the right classroom at the beginning of the school year.  

     

    Also in this letter, you will find the supply list to bring on the 1st day of school (or Meet the Teacher Night August 18, 2023 from 4:30-6:30) as well as a wish list for the class. Parents, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at kristen.scott@slps.org.

    Supply List:

      • A book bag large enough to hold a folder.  

      • A plastic pencil box labeled (large enough to hold markers, colored pencils, glue) 

      • 1 box of markers  

      • 2 glue sticks 

      • 3 boxes of yellow only pencils (to be shared throughout the year)  

      • 3 wide ruled spiral notebooks (1 green, 1 blue, and 1 red)  

      • 1 folder to be used for in class writing assignments  

      • 2 boxes of tissues (to be shared with the classroom community) 

      • 1 bottle of hand sanitizer (to be shared with the classroom community) 

      • 2 containers of disinfectant wipes (to be shared with the classroom community) 

      • 1 pack of black dry erase markers (chisel and thin tip) 

    Wish List:

      • Construction paper  

      • Sticky notes for student use  

      • Rolls of paper towel 

      • Band aids 

      • Pink erasers or pencil top erasers 

      • Yellow Highlighters
