    Stix Early Childhood Center

    Nurturing Young Learners!

The Stix Early Childhood Center staff believe that the school should meet the individual needs of the whole child: educationally, emotionally, morally and socially. The Stix staff believe that we should promote student responsibility, self-reliance, and self-direction. The Project Construct Curriculum and Assessment Framework is the methodology used to address these needs. The program is organized and implemented according to four interrelated domains: Sociomoral, Cognitive, Representational and Physical. The Stix staff believe in the constructivist theory which states, “children construct their own knowledge and values as a result of interactions with the physical and social world.” Teachers are “professional decision makers who use their knowledge and observations of young children to enrich teaching practice.”
