Hello families,

I hope that you all had a very enjoyable summer.  My name is Aric Wanagat, and I will be your child’s 1^st grade teacher. I am looking forward to a year of hard work and significant academic gains for your child!

This will be my 4th year teaching at Stix ECC, and I have been in education for 17 years. I was born and raised in the metro east, and I have one, older sibling. I am married to my best friend, Bonnie. We have been married for 10 years and have two awesome kitty-cats, Purlacher and Santo.  Purlacher is a domestic, short-hair cat and Santo is Siamese.  Like most cats, they can be either very sweet or giant balls of energy.

The following are some of the values I consider to be of high importance in my classroom.  First, I believe in setting high expectations for every student, both academically and socially.  Next, I believe in open and honest communication, and all students should show respect for each other in my classroom. Finally, I place an extremely high value on building relationships with families.  Certainly, when the education of a child is a partnership between the family and teacher, a child can accomplish great things.  You know your child best!  Please know that I value and appreciate all wisdom and advice.
