Mr. Vitoux
Dear students, parents, and guardians,
I want to welcome you all to our class! My name is Mr. Vitoux (pronounced V-toe) and I am looking forward to working with you all this year. I will be teaching Algebra 2 and College Algebra/Trig. I would like to start out by telling you a little about myself. First, I love to teach. It is such a great feeling when I can see my students making progress and really engaging with the learning. My wife and I spent the last 5 years teaching English as a second language in China. It was a great experience.
This will be my third year teaching math at Roosevelt, so I'm excited about hitting the ground running. Now a bit about my educational background. I got my bachelors degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Aerospace Engineering. That's the study of how airplanes, rockets and spaceships fly. I also just received my master’s degree in teaching from Saint Louis University.
I also want everyone to feel comfortable in our classroom. I use the word “our” for a reason. It's not just my classroom, it belongs to all of us. It's our space for learning, and it's our space to build a community. It is so important for high school students to build a solid foundation in math and, together, I know that we can do it.
