I was born and raised in Columbus, Mississippi.  I am the youngest girl of 9 children.  I am most proud of being the mother of 3 adult children, a wife to my supportive husband, grandmother to my 2 amazing grandchildren, and a mom to my Great Dane, Simba.   While this is my third year at Nance, I pride myself on being a veteran in the education profession with 25+ years of teaching experience.  I am passionate about utilizing education to promote growth and stability to break the cycle of poverty and make generational wealth a normal occurrence.  It truly takes a village to pour into our students to best prepare them for the future, and I look forward to being a part of your village during the 2024-2025 school year.  My hobbies include traveling, watching on tv and in person sports, spending time with my family /friends, as well as enriching the lives of others.  My faith is important to me as a person and educator.  I have interest in learning about others and what they hold dearly to best inform myself of the uniqueness that we all bring to the table.  A fun fact about me is that I am a lifelong learner.  I truly enjoy learning and passing information on to others to help them become a better version of themselves daily.
