Ms. Montgomery

I am excited and grateful to continue being a part of the team here at Nance Elementary as I begin another year. Over the past year, I’ve enjoyed getting to know the staff and supporting them in their roles as they shape young people’s lives. I remain committed to fostering a safe and nurturing school environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I firmly believe that every student deserves equitable opportunities to succeed, and I am dedicated to implementing strategies that support diverse learners and promote inclusivity.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I later moved to Kentucky, where I earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of the Cumberlands in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Instructional Leadership. I have had the opportunity to teach both kindergarten and 4th grade during my tenure as a classroom teacher in the Hazelwood School District and Normandy Schools Collaborative. Most recently, I served as an instructional coach and literacy lead in the Normandy Schools Collaborative.

Outside of my professional endeavors, I am a huge sports enthusiast. I enjoy watching, coaching, and participating in sports. I was a member of the first-ever Olympic women’s wrestling team in 2004, held in Athens, Greece. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to audiobooks, and helping with animal rescue.
