Mrs. Marilyn Jackson

Hello parents and students.  We are looking forward to having you here at Earl Nance Sr. Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.  As a Professional School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students. I have acquired over twenty plus years of experience employed as a mental health professional and school counselor at the preschool, elementary, middle and high school levels. What I love most about elementary level is the genuine curiosity students have in their learning and the world around them, as well as the opportunity for early intervention support that can have a lifetime positive impact on a child. My counseling philosophy is student centered and solution focused. The Missouri Comprehensive School Counseling Program is the framework for the delivery of services: individuals, small groups, classroom guidance, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all Nance school students.

In the area of Social and Emotional Learning, we have excelled and are now recognized as one of the Missouri State School of Character and National School of Character (2024-2026). We are the only St. Louis Public Schools with these two distinctions. Nance Elementary students, caregivers, and staff have produced a welcoming, enriched environment for multi-levels of personal learning experiences. The H.E.A.R.T. (Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect, and Tenacity) of Nance Elementary School are the scholars and their caregivers striving for lifelong learning. Thank you students, caregivers, staff and community partners for this collaborative team work with Character Plus. Job Well Done.

Parents, I am seeking out parents to be a part of the Parent's Advisory Council, to offer feedback about happenings in the school.  Please feel free to reach out to me concerning suggestions for activities here at the school. We welcome your help and input.  If you need any assistance, please feel free to make contact with me. All the best and remember our kids are under construction. BE Safe, BE Strong, BE Health
