  • Hello Wolverine Family!

I'm thrilled to be a part of the Vashon School community and contribute to its educational excellence. With a passion for education spanning 9 years, I bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success.

My journey began at Northwest High School, where I spent 7 rewarding years as a dedicated educator. During this time, I had the privilege of fostering a love for learning among my students and witnessing their growth firsthand. I then transitioned to Vashon, serving as a supplemental ELA teacher for 1.5 years, where I continued to engage and inspire young minds.

As I step into my role as Assistant Principal at Vashon, I am excited to take on new challenges and contribute to the school's thriving academic environment. My educational journey has been marked by continuous learning, which is reflected in my academic achievements. I hold not one, but three Master's degrees - in Secondary Education with a focus on School Counseling, Curriculum and Instruction, and Educational Administration. Additionally, I am proud to hold a Doctoral degree in Teacher Leadership, which has further honed my skills in guiding both educators and students toward excellence.

My diverse educational background, combined with my years of hands-on experience, has instilled in me a deep understanding of the educational landscape. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that empowers both students and educators to reach their full potential.

Beyond the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family and crafting. My family keeps me humble and my passion for crafting fuels my commitment to creating a well-rounded educational experience that nurtures not only academic growth but also personal development.

I am eager to collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to continue elevating the educational standards at Vashon. Feel free to reach out to me at shaniequa.blanchard@slps.org for any questions, ideas, or conversations. Together, let's make a positive impact on the future of our students and the school community.
