Mr. Rob Tucker

Hey Wolverine Nation!

My name is Rob Tucker, and I am a special education teacher at Vashon High School.  Although I've only been teaching here since February 2022, I've been a wolverine for much longer.  I used to come to Vashon, with my mom (a teacher here, too), as a kindergartner and all the way to adulthood. On Saturday afternoons, and some Friday nights, you could find me sitting in the football stands, cheering our team on to victory.  I have great memories of coming to the school building and hanging out with the big kids.

I grew up in Oakville, Missouri, and graduated from Oakville High School, in 2017. I attended Benedictine College, on a football scholarship, where I studied and earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology.  It was, and is, my intent to enter the field of Law Enforcement, but before I did this, I wanted to know more about kids; how they develop, learn, and grow into productive adults. I began my career in education as a substitute teacher and have been a full-time teacher for two years (22-23 & 23-24).

I realize school can be challenging for many kids, but I specifically wanted to work with students who have special needs, and assist them with pursing their goals, both personally and professionally.  In my role as a teacher, I believe I can provide the support and direction to do this.

In my off time, I spend a lot of time playing X-Box, hanging with my 2-year-old dog, Shadow, the cutest Pit Bull/Bull Mastiff ever, and my buddies. I also have a part-time job in security, at Paddy O's, next to Busch stadium, where I have a great time hanging out with the Card's fans!  As you can imagine, as a guy who has played football starting at seven years old, I really enjoy watching any, and all teams, but especially, my alma mater, Benedictine College... Go Ravens!
