Greetings Gateway Family -

Preparing for the start of a new school year is one of my most favorite times of the year.  I am able to brainstorm, collaborate and create vision for our Gateway School Community.  Middle School is a special time to make new friends and new connections.  Middle school years are an exciting time for our students as they experience a profound change in their personal identity development.  They are growing physically, intellectually, morally, psychologically, and socio-emotionally.  They are intrigued by the thoughts of their social and emotional being.  It is imperative that we expose them to as many learning opportunities that will help shape them into being model citizens and a Portrait of a Graduate.  The Portrait of a Graduate is one who is college and career ready,  a change agent, critical thinker, communicator, competent, culturally aware, and a collaborator.  As a village, we looked forward to cultivating intentional excellence by empowering and unleashing talents for all through literacy.
